Where did February, March, and April go? I swear I missed it all. I’ve been working at the laptop for days, months and the book is almost done. My supporters are getting restless and asking when it will be finished every other day. Their enthusiasm spurs me on most of the time. Getting “it” done is taking four times as long. Here’s what I’ve accomplished in the last week. I learned all about Adobe’s InDesign CS5 and ePub files and Mobi. My laptop has crashed about ten times always at the most crucial moment. I’ve learned to remain absolutely calm during these little shutdowns. I’m pressing the technology to the maximum. I’ve got thirty web pages open and multiple files and sometime Photoshop all up at the same time. Here’s what I can say. When the book is done, it’s going to be GREAT! I’m serious. I’ve been over the story so many times and the fonts I’ve chosen for the printed version are fabulous. It’s all coming together; I can ‘t believe it. Stay tuned. Just wait a little longer. It’s been quite the ride getting Not To Us ready for public consumption, but so worth it. The good thing is Seeing Julia will be so much easier because of everything I’ve just been through with this one.
One thing I will add…Indie writing and publishing is not for the faint of heart. It is a lot of work, however, to be able to take full credit for the creative work from writing the story itself to producing the finished novel, it’s quite a ride! Woo! Hoo!
